RIDE BETTERAPP

Terms of service

The conditions, in plain language.

These terms are the agreement between you and Ride Better. They cover your account, your ride content, what the training analysis is and is not, and how the trial and the $50/month membership work.

Effective September 26, 2026

Agreement and eligibility

By creating an account, subscribing, or using the Ride Better website or app, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Ride Better.

You must be at least 16 years old, able to form a binding contract, and permitted to use Ride Better where you live. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should be involved in your use of the app and is responsible for the account.

What Ride Better does

Ride Better lets you film a ride, upload the video, and receive feedback about what happened, along with a training plan for your horse, daily priorities, a calendar, and a way to keep your trainer connected to your progress.

We can change, add, or remove features as the product develops. If a change materially reduces the service you are paying for, we will tell you, and you may cancel your membership as described below.

Your account

  • Keep your account details accurate, including your email address.
  • Keep your password private and do not share your login with anyone else.
  • You are responsible for activity that happens under your account, including uploads.
  • One account per person. Do not resell, rent, or share access to Ride Better.
  • Tell us at ridebetterapp@gmail.com if you believe someone else has used your account.

Your videos and data

You keep ownership of the videos, photos, notes, and horse information you add to Ride Better. We are not claiming your ride footage.

To make the app work, you grant us a limited license to host, store, process, display, and analyze your content — for you and for the trainers you link — and to make backup copies. This license exists only to provide and improve the service to you, and it ends for a given item when you delete it.

You confirm that:

  • you have the right to upload the content, including any music or third-party material in it;
  • uploading it does not infringe anyone else’s rights or privacy;
  • where identifiable people appear and would reasonably expect privacy, you have their permission.

You can delete individual items, or ask us to delete your account and its content, as described in the privacy policy.

Ride analysis, instruction, and safety

Feedback and plans generated by Ride Better are informational. They are produced by software, and software is not a trainer, a veterinarian, or a medical professional. Ride analysis does not replace qualified in-person instruction, and it is not veterinary, medical, or farrier advice.

Working with horses is inherently risky. You are responsible for your own decisions about training, health, equipment, and handling, and for the safety of anyone with you. Do not act on app feedback in a way that risks you, your horse, or other people. If you are injured, if your horse is lame or unwell, or if something is beyond your current skill, stop and get qualified help.

Your trainer’s direction takes priority over anything generated by the app. If the two disagree, follow your trainer and tell them about it.

Free trial, membership, and billing

3-day free trial

New eligible Ride Better users receive a 3-day (72-hour) free trial. No credit card is required to start your trial.

Your free trial begins when you activate your Ride Better trial and ends 72 hours later.

You will not be automatically charged when your free trial ends. At the end of your free trial, continued access to paid Ride Better features requires a Ride Better Membership.

Membership: $50 per month

If you choose to continue, you can purchase a monthly Ride Better Membership for $50/month. Your paid membership begins when you complete your subscription purchase, and your payment method will be charged at that time.

Your membership will automatically renew monthly at $50/month until canceled.

You may cancel your membership at any time through the available membership and subscription management tools. Cancellation stops future renewals. Unless otherwise required by law or stated during cancellation, you will retain access through the end of the billing period you have already paid for.

If you cancel part-way through a billing period, the unused days are refunded pro rata: you are charged only for the days you used, and the rest goes back to your original payment method. Refunds may take a few business days to appear. If you need help with a refund, tell us at ridebetterapp@gmail.com.

Canceling does not automatically delete your Ride Better account or your stored training information.

Prices are in US dollars and exclude taxes where applicable. We may change our prices with notice; a price change does not apply to a billing period you have already paid for.

Purchases and cancellation are handled inside the Ride Better app by our payment provider.

Trainers and Verified Trainer access

Ride Better is free for trainers: $0 per month with 0% commission on lessons or programs. Approved Verified Trainers may receive complimentary access under Ride Better’s current Verified Trainer program, and verification and eligibility are determined by Ride Better.

Lessons, clinics, and programs arranged between a trainer and a rider are agreements between them. Ride Better is not a party to those arrangements and is not responsible for them.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • upload content you have no right to upload, or content that is unlawful, abusive, or harmful;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to Ride Better or other users’ accounts or data;
  • interfere with, disable, or overload the service, or probe it for vulnerabilities without our permission;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or copy the software, except where the law forbids that restriction;
  • use automated scripts, scrapers, or bots to access Ride Better without our permission;
  • impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your relationship with Ride Better or a trainer;
  • use Ride Better to build a competing product or to train a competing system;
  • violate any law, or the rights of any person, in your use of the service.

If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them without obligation or payment to you.

Our intellectual property

The Ride Better name, emblem, software, interface, and original instructional and plan content belong to Ride Better or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Your own content stays yours. Nothing in these terms gives you the right to use our branding or to resell our content.

Third-party services and links

Ride Better relies on third parties for hosting, file storage, video processing, payments, email, and analytics, and the site may link to websites we do not control. Those providers and sites have their own terms and privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them.

Ending your use

You can stop using Ride Better at any time and cancel your membership as described above. We may suspend or close an account if you break these terms, if we must for legal or security reasons, or if payment fails and is not resolved.

When your use ends, your right to use the app stops. You can ask us to delete your account and content; we may retain records where we have a legitimate or legal reason to do so, as described in the privacy policy.

Disclaimers

Ride Better is provided “as is” and “as available”, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that analysis will be accurate, or that any particular riding result will follow. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Ride Better is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or loss of opportunity, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing excludes your liability for your own negligence or for injury or damage caused by your handling of a horse.

Indemnity

If a third party brings a claim against Ride Better because of content you uploaded, your use of the service, or your breach of these terms, you agree to defend and cover us for reasonable losses and legal costs arising from that claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product and the law change. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email, with the effective date shown at the top of this page. If you do not accept a change, cancel your membership and stop using Ride Better; continuing to use it after a change takes effect means the updated terms apply.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and, where relevant, the laws of the state in which Ride Better is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts serving that location, or where you live if the law allows. You may also contact a consumer authority in your own country, and nothing here prevents you from relying on mandatory consumer protections where you live.
